Universal Orlando’s newest food outlet, Voodoo Doughnut, now open for previews

Voodoo Doughnut, at Universal CityWalk, is now open for preview. The preview allows visitors to sample the delightfully weird and delicious creations before the venue’s official opening. During this time, the shop will be open on a limited, unscheduled basis.

The founders of Voodoo Doughnut, Kenneth “Cat Daddy” Pogson and Tres Shannon, have brought the same vision for their first store in Portland to life in Universal CityWalk – first in Hollywood and now Orlando. That means guests can experience pink-theming, an offbeat vibe and irreverent doughnut names for the first time east of the Mississippi.

The inside of the store will hit customers with the vibrancy of the pink and yellow walls and quirky knick-knacks, including antique chandeliers, skeleton mannequins playing in a mariachi band, a doughnut throne and more. Exclusive to this location, the throne will sit right outside the shop for customers to use for a unique photo opportunity.

Upon entering the shop, guests are greeted by the aroma of freshly glazed sweetness, a spinning carousel full of the mouthwatering creations from Oh Captain, My Captain to the Bacon Maple Bar and the iconic Voodoo Doll doughnut.

Also exclusive to this location is a decorating counter where you can watch as the master decorators prepare the toppings and icing designs on the more than 50 types of doughnuts.

Fun merchandise items are on sale including tumblers, travel and coffee mugs, t-shirts, sweatshirts and more. Eclectic and offbeat objects in the shop include a statue of the Voodoo Doll doughnut, a shark in a sweater and a spiral staircase to nowhere.
