A whiskered walrus baby was welcomed to SeaWorld Orlando on June 3rd, she was an extra special arrival as she was the first baby walrus born there.
The park’s walrus program plays an important role in educating the public about these amazing animals. While walruses are not yet listed as a threatened species, they have been affected due to global climate change.
Last week SeaWorld Orlando released an update on how the baby walrus calf was progressing. They decided it was time to give her a swimming lesson and trainers got into the water with her just to make sure she was OK. Although not yet on show to the public guests can now watch her through a live stream inside Wild Arctic.
