From today Walt Disney World is testing a new way of obtaining FastPass+ reservations. It has long been anticipated that Walt Disney World may some day start charging for additional FastPass+ reservations and it looks like this may be happening soon.
For a test period only at the moment, guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels will be able to purchase additional FastPass+ reservations as well as places at preferred viewing areas for some nighttime spectaculars.
The cost is $50 plus tax per guest and is only an option for guests staying in certain resorts who are staying at club level. Some of the resorts participating in the test are Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.
It’s not yet known how long this test period will last for but there is no change to the existing FastPass+ rules. The Disney FastPass+ service allows guests to reserve access to select Walt Disney World theme park attractions, entertainment and Character Greetings in advance. There is no additional cost to use FastPass+ service―it is included with a theme park admission.
