Disney’s PhotoPass solves at least two of the problems with getting the best possible record of your holiday – it gives you professional standard photos and it means that everyone can be in the picture!
The photographers based at the Walt Disney World theme parks will offer to take your picture – there is no cost at this stage and no obligation to purchase the picture.
The pictures include attractions photos taken in-ride, and also slow motion videos of you whilst in the course of the ride (thanks to your MagicBand!).
The pictures and videos can then be previewed online and you have the option to purchase at that stage.
If you link PhotoPass to your Disney account, the pictures will usually appear on your ‘My Disney Experience‘ app shortly afterwards, meaning that you can see them whilst you are still in the park.
Linking Photos to Your Disney Account
When you are visiting Walt Disney World Resort, you can link photos to your Disney account with your Disney PhotoPass card, MagicBand, Memory Maker card or annual pass. Disney PhotoPass cards are complimentary and can be obtained from any Disney PhotoPass Photographer.
If you are wearing your MagicBand, it automatically links attraction photos and videos to your Disney account. If you don’t have a MagicBand, you will need to visit the attraction’s photo preview wall immediately after experiencing the attraction and touch your Disney PhotoPass card, Memory Maker card or annual pass to the touch point next to the preview screen that displays your photo.
MagicBands are required to link attraction videos to your Disney account.
You can then use your My Disney Experience account to preview and purchase your photos and videos.
Memory Maker is an additional service that can be purchased in advance, and allows you to download all photos taken at the following locations:
Disney PhotoPass Photographers
Attraction Photos and Videos
Magic Shots (where Disney characters may also appear in your pictures!)
Once you activate Memory Maker, you have 30 days to capture photos and videos.
