Construction Update on Aquatica’s new Ray Rush attraction

A few months is was revealed Ray Rush, a brand-new attraction, would be coming to Aquatica this spring. Here’s an update on how construction is going.

Construction crews have been onsite for the past several weeks, demolition of HooRoo Run is complete and work on the new attraction has begun.Teams have already begun the process of pouring the massive cement foundations that will support the new water slide.

A majority of the fiberglass slide pieces and galvanized steel supports have arrived on site and crews are beginning the complex task of assembling small ride sections which will soon be lifted into position. In no time at all, guests will see these vibrant blue and green slide sections rise into place, some as high as 60 feet.

Ray Rush will offer guests three ways to slide, splash and soar like never before on this new raft ride. First, water jets launch the raft from zero to awesome in just seconds. The adventure takes a twisting turn as the raft spins inside a colossal water sphere. Finally, dive into the giant manta wings, swooping up and down a different path each time. Ray Rush is due to open spring 2018, more details will be released soon.
